การบรรยายครั้งนี้สะท้อนบทเรียนจากเหตุการณ์น้ำท่วมเมืองหาดใหญ่ในอดีต พร้อมวิเคราะห์แนวโน้มการเปลี่ยนแปลงของสภาพภูมิอากาศและความท้าทายในอนาคตของเมือง

Special Lecture: “Hatyai in the Shadow of Water: Looking Back, Moving Forward with Hope”
A compelling special lecture titled “Hatyai in the Shadow of Water: Looking Back, Moving Forward with Hope”was delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Seree Supratid, Vice Chairman of the National Disaster Warning Council Foundation.
The session took place during the SGN Preferred Choice 2025 certificate and emblem presentation ceremony, held on February 14, 2026, at the Nex Lab, Faculty of Business Administration, Hatyai University. This event was organized under the research project: “Developing Networks and Cultural Food Zones toward Regional Creativity: An Integrated Hub for Premium Culinary Experience Design.”
The lecture’s key insights began with a poignant reflection on the past, revisiting lessons learned from Hatyai’s historical flooding events to gain a deeper understanding of the city’s inherent vulnerabilities. Building on this historical context, Associate Professor Dr. Seree Supratid provided a comprehensive analysis of future trends, offering a deep dive into shifting climate patterns and the escalating environmental challenges facing the urban landscape. Ultimately, the session presented a proactive roadmap for the future, emphasizing that robust water management readiness, advanced warning systems, and strategic response plans are the fundamental pillars required to transform Hatyai into a secure, resilient, and hopeful city.
This presentation underscored the importance of integrating disaster resilience into urban development, ensuring that Hatyai remains a “City of Hope” for its residents and businesses alike.
